A teenager and a motorcyclist were killed in separate accidents on Essex roads.
An 18-year-old car passenger, of Silver End, died when the vehicle overturned on Ashes Road, Cressing, near Braintree.
Police said the accident happened at about 9.30pm yesterday, when a blue Renault Clio driven by another 18-year-old, of Silver End, was overtaking an Audi 80 driven by a 42-year-old man, of Silver End.
The car overturned on a grass verge, causing serious injuries to the Renault driver and killing the 18-year-old passenger.
The driver and two other passengers were taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford. The Audi driver was uninjured.
A doctor declared the 18-year-old passenger dead at the scene.
In a separate addicent, Simon Miller, 29. of Pedlars Path, Danbury, died after a collision at about 11.15am yesterday near the Army and Navy roundabout in Chelmsford.
The motorcyclist, riding a red Kawasaki 600cc, was involved in a collision with a red Citroen driven by a 38-year-old Chelmsford woman, who was not injured.
