A probation officer has been shortlisted for a top police award.
PC Andrew Copley, from Pitsea police station, is one of 19 probation officers fighting it out in the tenth annual Police Review Gala Awards.
PC Copley was nominated by Essex Police for the probationer of the year category in the awards, which will take place on November 21 in London, and are presented by Nick Ross of BBC's Crimewatch.
Police Review magazine, organisers of the awards in association with insurance company Eagle Star, said: "PC Andrew Copley's community spirit has already earned him the respect of the local population - particularly a family who complained of being attacked by youths."
