Westwood Karate Club's Shaun Dutton won bronze at a national championship -- just days after being knocked down and injured by a car.
Shaun turned up to the United Kingdom Traditional Karate Federation senior championships in Blackpool with cuts, bruises and a suspected broken foot.

But, with blood seeping through his karate suit from a graze on his leg, he helped his team-mates Alan Parrish and Mike Gibbons to glory in the men's team event.
Twenty-one club members returned from the event with at least one medal, including gold winners Alan Parrish, Carol Parrish, Marites Tomlinson, Raymond Wong, Helen Martin, Paul Ledger and Lande Fourie.
