Clacton Town were unable to overcome a buoyant Tiptree who walked off 3-1 winners at Chapel Lane last night in the Jewson League, premier division.
Two mistakes cost Clacton the match. Steve Daly's free-kick was spilled by Darren Gould letting Dave Lodge net the rebound for the first.
Dave Barefield was brought down in the box and former Clacton player Paul Champ converted against his old team.
After the restart Clacton applied the pressure and with the introduction of Amara Simba off the sub's bench started to gain control.
Tiptree then made a mistake. Simba intercepted goalkeeper Michael Bavesters pass to Paul Champ and comfortably passed the ball into the net.
The Jam-makers replied, Mark Farmer played a through ball to the feet of Danny Rochester, the young striker met the ball just before Gould and tapped it over and into the goal.
Harwich and Parkeston slumped to a 6-2 defeat away to Gorleston in the Jewson League, premier division.
Gareth Heath grabbed the Shrimpers two goals.
Wivenhoe suffered their biggest league defeat of the season last night, in the Ryman League, division one north, losing 4-0 away to Slough.
