Southend Hospital was today condemned for charging disabled drivers in an effort to ease the chronic parking problems at the site.
The hospital trust is introducing fees for disabled badge holders as part of a desperate move to improve parking conditions.
Southend residents with disabled badges, who are allowed to park for free in the majority of the town's car parks, have branded the move immoral.
