Vicious robber Philip Byrne, who was caught after dropping a glove at the scene of his crime, was today starting a nine-year prison sentence.
The glove was discovered after Byrne and two other thugs carried out a £2,400 hair salon raid.
DNA tests on the glove found saliva which matched that of Byrne, 32, of Broxburn Drive, South Ockendon.
He was found guilty at Basildon Crown Court of the robbery.
