An appeal hearing against the conviction of Jeremy Bamber has heard vital evidence at the murder scene could have been disturbed by armed police.
As counsel seek to prove six of the ten points which led to Bamber being jailed for life for the murder of five members of his family in 1985 were destroyed or seriously weakened, the court yesterday heard claims the scene was disturbed by officers when they arrived.
Police originally thought Bamber's adopted sister Sheila Caffell had killed her family at their Essex farmhouse in Tolleshunt D'Arcy before turning the gun on herself.
On the third day of the appeal hearing in London, Bamber's counsel Michael Turner QC said there was some suggestion the disarray of the furniture could have been carried out by the tactical firearms group as they went into the house.
The appeal continues
