The event is also the qualifier for the apparatus final in December and saw Shoebury's Charlie Atkins competing in her first FIG Championship, which is the highest level of competition.

She had an excellent all-round competition, taking the silver medal in the nine to 12 age group with a second place on every piece of apparatus, making each final.

In the level four 10-12 age group, Chloe Morton, from Wickford, became champion when she finsihed over a mark ahead of her nearest rival, qualifying for vault, beam and floor finals.

Clubmate Jessica Downes, who lives in Danbury, took the bronze with a good all-round competition - also making the floor final.

With the top three gymnasts qualifying for the regional finals in levels four and three, Chloe and Jessica now go through to that competition with Dawn filling the reserve spot.
