An anonymous lucky punter in north Essex has scooped a bookie's biggest ever winnings.
The man, who does not want to be named, put down a stake of just £26 and won £34,067.57 from Bobby Swift Bookmakers, Ashlyns Road, Frinton, on Saturday.
He selected five horses in the Newmarket Day of Champions and although the first horse lost, the remaining four all won in his Super Yankee bet.
Dave Halley, area manager for the bookmakers, said: "It's the biggest bet anyone of us have paid out. I've been in the game for 30 years and it's the biggest one I've been involved in.
"I wish I could do it. I'm sure it's made his dreams come true anyway."
The man is a regular visitor to Bobby Swift's Frinton branch.
