Southend United fans have helped raise cash for a fund in memory of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, the two murdered Soham schoolgirls.
Supporters who turned up to Saturday's game against York City at Roots Hall dipped into their pockets and raised £831.
Football intelligence officer, Det Con Richard Spooner, thanked the fans and Southend Hospital for providing the collection buckets.
