Lumpy gravy and spotted dick were off the menu at a Basildon school, but it was all for a good cause.

The event was part of Make a Meal for Marie Curie campaign, aimed at informing school children across Essex of the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Pupils were sponsored for taking part in the fundraising day, with many lunchboxes having a greener look than usual.
The school hopes to raise hundreds of pounds when sponsor money is collected after the half-term holiday.
