An irate motorist leapt from his car and began attacking another vehicle, police have revealed.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at 5.15pm on Thursday at the A137 in Lawford under the railway bridge.
PC Chris Phillips said a car was waiting under the bridge and giving priority to another vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
A four-wheel car, which should have waited, suddenly appeared and drove through.
The male driver then got out and approached the vehicle that had come from the opposite direction.
PC Phillips said the driver then kicked the rear of the car, damaging a light and snapped a wing mirror off.
The male driver of the car which was damaged comes from Lawford.
It is thought a woman in a red Corsa may have seen the incident.
Any witnesses are asked to contact Mistley police on 01206 392611.
