Plans for a major development of more than 80 retirement flats on Clacton seafront have been drawn up.
The company behind the project is hopeful it will be given the green light for the prestigious scheme for the former Beaumont Hall on Marine Parade West.
Retirement home specialists McCarthy and Stone this week released the plans and hope to have the building up in about a year.
It had expected they would be put before a meeting of Tendring Council next Tuesday but they will not be discussed until mid-November.
The company has applied to demolish Beaumont Hall and rebuild it as 81 retirement flats.
"We have been working closely with the planning officers and believe they are now very happy with the design," said Andrew Oliver, the company's regional managing director.
The development will have a large recreation lounge for residents' social events, a lift, laundry, and guest suite for visitors.
