A woman on a bike could be vital in helping police piece together the last days of a man's life.
Colchester police today appealed for witnesses after Tom Buckley was found dead in his Mersea Road home in Colchester on October 9.
A post-mortem examination revealed that he died from a fractured skull, which police believe happened when he fell over.
They are appealing to anyone who may have seen Mr Buckley on Friday, October 4, when he suffered a fall outside the Scheregate Hotel in St John's Street, Colchester, at its junction with Abbeygate at about 4pm.
He was taken to Colchester General Hospital by ambulance but refused treatment.
In particular, police would like to hear from a woman who was riding a bicycle and stopped to ask at a nearby butchers shop if someone could call an ambulance.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Colchester police on 01206 762 212.
