Southend and District LTA chiefs were cock-a-hoop this week after securing the largest amount of entries for the men's singles winter championship for many years.
Among the top seeds in the 32-strong field are Westcliff Hard's Simon Bonham, Simon Chesher and Andy Bacon, plus David Lloyd Basildon's Carey Willson.
The ladies' singles sees the debut of up and coming Thorpe Bay teenager Jade Blackman in the competition.
Entries are also going well for the Essex County LTA winter championships, where the top seeds in the men's tournament are Simon Harston and Sam Pedder.
The Essex League Men's Division One title decider between Westcliff Hard and Thorpe Bay had to be postponed on Saturday due to heavy rain.
