Despite a promising start and ending the first half with a single goal advantage, Brentwood were unable to maintain their form in the second half and were eventually overcome by their worthy opponents.

Stuart Piper poked the home side's nose in front from their first short corner of the match.

A quick one - two allowed him to flick the ball goalwards but the keeper made a fine save to deny him.

Quick reactions however provided the in-form Sweeper the chance to take a second bite at the cherry and this time there was no mistake.

A swift attack early in the second half provided Pelicans' equaliser. Paul Johnson in goal managed to repel the first shot but with the Pelicans forward bearing down on the rebound, the only option was to bundle him to the ground and concede a penalty flick.

The home side's concentration slipped at this point and a short corner was conceded immediately from the push back. One - Nil up to Two - One down in the space of minutes.

A third goal for the travelling side consolidated their hold on the match with ten minutes remaining.
