An auction of promises, in which bidders offered cash for jobs to be done by village people, raised a record £4,500 at the weekend.
Terling Village Hall was packed on Saturday as pledges for services as varied as wedding photography and cleaning the drains went under the hammer in a bid to raise cash for the village primary school.
The money will buy a new television and video recorder and help towards the cost of a covered outdoor play around for the school's 108 children.
Organiser Lesa Rayner said later the event had been much more successful than a similar event last year.
"It was our first last year, and we were pleased to make £1,700," she said.
