The sky is set to light up over Brentwood when the town stages its annual musical fireworks spectacular on Saturday, November 2.

The theme of this year's show, in the grounds of the Brentwood Centre, Doddinghurst Road, will be Harry Potter and the organisers are promising an afternoon and evening to remember.

Brentwood Events supported by Brentwood Borough Council are building a superb locomotive and a spectacular castle to form the centrepiece of the event.

Master falconer, Ray Aliker, will on be on hand with his Ye Olde Red Tail Falconry Display, whose owls featured in the promotion of the Harry Potter films, to add an extra air of magic.

Flying Pictures will also be attending to present their Hot Air Balloon night glow show.

Organiser, Roy Dyer, said: "The show will open at 4.30pm when Peter Holmes of Breeze/Classic Gold radio will introduce a programme of live stage entertainment.

"This will carry on until 8pm when spectators can watch £10,000 worth of fireworks set off accompanied by the sounds of pop and classical music coming through a 25 thousand watt sound system.

"Admission is just £4.50 for adults and £2.50 for children with accompanied children under 12 admitted free of charge before 6pm.

"We would like to ask everyone to arrive as early as possible and certainly before 7.30pm to avoid disappointment." For more information call 01277 226624
