Basildon's Tony Ridley took a tremendous haul of more than 30 carp when he fished at the new town's Gloucester Park -- and needed the help of two pals to to lift the estimated haul of 150lb to 200lb out of the water!
Tony was fishing the cockle bank where he used a quivertip and double trout pellet bait. Casting to the island produced a steady stream of fish with individual specimens to double figures.
A week earlier Tony had taken over 40 carp when he fished the Gloucester Park big bay on the other side of the lake.
Joey Keep, 12, started his carp fishing in style when he fished the Gloucester Park tench point.
Using a quivertip and trout pellet he tempted his first ever carp, a specimen of 18lb.
The big fish proved far too big for Joey's landing net, but fortunately a nearby carp angler was on hand to lend him a net more suited to the task.
Billericay's Lake Meadows continues to produce excellent carp, with Rod Lewsey taking three big fish during an afternoon session.
Rod fished to the left of the point where his homemade boilies tempted mirrors of 16lb 8oz and 18lb, plus a 21lb common. The following day Rod added an 18lb fish to his haul.
Brian Smith is finally getting to grips with the Lake Meadows carp and his latest session produced commons of 14lb 6oz and 19lb 12oz.
