Somerfield in Wickford could soon be selling more fresh food if a planning application submitted to Basildon council is successful.
Under the proposals, for a refrigeration plant to be placed on the roof, the range of fresh fruit and vegetables would be increased.
The plans are part of a refit that would see produce counters close to the entrance of the High Street store.
