Health chiefs are pleading with Thurrock people to use the facilities at Orsett Hospital.
Dr Gill Jenner, medical director for the Basildon and Thurrock Hospitals Trust said that following the transfer of the in-patient wards to Basildon Hospital, "many Thurrock people seem to think these services are no longer available at Orsett".
But she said: "It is only the wards that have moved.
"There are no changes to any of the other services - the day surgery unit, the minor injuries unit, outpatient clinics and diagnostic facilities."
