It's that time of year when the good hearted people of Brentwood and Ongar are being asked to put their glad rags on and join in the annual Brentwood Banquet organised by the Brentwood Gazette.
It will be at the Heybridge Hotel, Roman Road, Ingatestone, and once again the proceeds will go to the Rhys Daniels Trust Home from Home Appeal.
Last year the event brought in a bumper £14,000 and this year it is hoped even more can be raised for the charity which aims to provide parents with sick children real homestyle accomodation near hospitals while their child is receiving long term life saving treatment.
The black tie event will start with a champagne reception at 7pm followed by a four course meal. Then comes the charity auction where a bumper clutch of collectible items will be up for sale and the bidding is always fierce.
The entertertainment will be provided by Band on the Run with two special ginging guests stars in Diane Moore and 16-year-old Christie Prentice famous from television's Star for a Night and Pop Idol respectively.
Tickets priced at £50 or £45 when booked as a table for 10 are going fast but some are still available by calling Gazette Advertising Manager, Carold Campbell, on 01277 219222.
