A church with its fingers on the pulse has designed a website which has come runner-up in a competition.
St Peter's Church in Bocking was one of 12 picked out of more than 600 entrants nationwide in the best parish church website competition run by Ecclesiastical Insurance.
The competition judged websites on how well they are designed, the appeal of the site to the public, how often it is updated and how quickly e-mails are responded to.
Enthusiastic choir member, Peter Marsden, suggested starting a site and was encouraged to design and build one by church vicar, Father Trevor Diaper
Mr Diaper said: "We are trying to spread the word of the ancient traditions of the church through modern media. It was a delightful surprise to do so well, and we will work hard to do even better next year.
"Hopefully it will give encouragement to the parish and inspire other churches to make websites themselves."
