Long serving auxiliary coastguard Barrie Daykin has been rewarded for two decades of life-saving work.
Mr Daykin, 44, from Wakering Avenue, Shoebury, works at the Coastguard station in Ness Road, Shoebury, where he is station officer of the response team.

He is to be presented the Auxiliary Coastguard Long Service Medal at a presentation later this year.
A spokesman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: "Barrie's dedication and commitment to the service, coupled with his enthusiastic and professional response to incidents, has without doubt assisted in saving a number of lives."
