Colchester threw away a two-goal lead away to draw 2-2 against fellow strugglers Swindon.
U's went ahead after a mistake by Dutch goalkeeper Bart Griemink. He allowed a weakly-struck Joe Keith free-kick to slip under his body for Scott McGleish to run the ball into the net.
Griemink then failed to deal with cross from Kem Izzet, allowing Thomas Pinault to put Colchester 2-0 ahead.
It seemed as though Swindon were about to register their 10th defeat in 11 league games.
However, captain Andy Gurney began the revival, which was complete when French striker Eric Sabin lashed in his second goal of the season.
