A man had to be airlifted to Basildon Hospital after falling eight feet and being crushed by a lift.
The Procter and Gamble employee was working in the company storeroom when he fell off a raised platform and landed on his back on the concrete floor eight feet below.
A pallet lift came tumbling down after him, crushing him to the floor.
Paramedics and fire crews were called to the building off Stonehouse Lane in West Thurrock on Friday.
Firefighters helped free the man while ambulance crews gave him first aid to chest injuries.
He was then airlifted to hospital by the Essex Air Ambulance.
Nobody at Procter and Gamble was available for comment.
