A disabled woman was traumatised after her horse was found with horrific life-threatening slash wounds.
Tracy Hornsby, 38, from Tilbury, who suffers from a brain disease, bought her seven-year-old bay Cob, Blaze, only a month ago, as a relief from her illness.
But her dream turned into a nightmare when her 15-year-old daughter, Toni, found the horse covered in blood with four-inch wide knife wounds on the morning of Saturday October 12.
A spokeswoman for Essex police said: "This was a horrific attack on an innocent animal who cannot defend itself."
