A Benfleet policeman and his dog have come first in the Essex Police dog trials, it emerged today.
PC Colin Elsegood, of Benfleet, and his dog Ronnie, were runners up in last year's competition.
However, this year the pair, based at Laindon dog unit, came out tops.
The trials started on Tuesday and finished yesterday afternoon.
