A fifties themed restaurant is holding a one-off live music evening, with several local singers set to perform, and staff and customers in fancy dress.

Frankie and Benny's in the Festival Leisure Park, Basildon will be holding the event on October 24 with music from the 50s and 60s.

Brad Anderson, who works at the diner and will be performing on the night, said: "This the first live entertainment night we have done. Staff will be dressed up, the girls as Marilyn Monroe and the boys as Frank Sinatra.

"We also want customers to dress up. There will be various live acts throughout the night and a raffle with brilliant prizes, such as a limousine ride, free meals, CDs and bottles of wine."

The music will start at 7.30pm until 11pm but the restaurant will be open as usual.

Anyone who wants to join in, either to have a meal or just have a drink at the bar, should book in advance by calling 01268 532522.
