Surveyors have discovered Colchester's famous water tower is even more Jumbo-sized than was originally thought.
Water tower - surveyors have discovered that Jumbo is more than four metres higher than planned
It turns out Jumbo is more than four metres higher than the original working drawings which would have been used to build it indicate.
The survey was done to assess the Victorian landmark before work starts to convert the brick-built structure into a luxury home.
According to the Jumbo website, the surveyors also found that the tip of the weather vane on top of the tower reaches about 86.7 m above sea level.
The owners of Jumbo did not want to comment on when people can expect to see work starting on Jumbo but it is expected early next year.
Jumbo, now owned by Roy and Linda Rawden, is to become a five-bedroom home after planning permision was granted on appeal in December last year.
