A woman smashed the windows of her Southend home and struck a police officer at the scene, Southend Magistrates' Court heard.
Police called to Alison Cook's home in Manners Way, found her aggressive and she started striking an officer on the arms.
Cook, 44, was arrested and admitted she had been drinking heavily. She said she had "flipped" because of emotional problems.
She pleaded guilty to assault and District Judge Kevin Gray sentenced her to 12 months probation and ordered her to pay £60 costs.
