Two new bus services are to begin in South Woodham Ferrers from next month.
Demand from students living in the town needing to get to college in Southend has prompted First Buses to extend one of its existing routes from Southend while people wanting to get to Chelmsford can soon use a super-fast service up the new A130.
The additions have been welcomed by community leaders who have been pushing for better services for several years.
Under the changes, to come into effect on September 2, the number 24 and 24C weekday services will continue to the Asda store in South Woodham and return.
There will be four services in the mornings and five in the afternoons primarily aimed at increased students going to South East Essex College in Southend.
The 36X service will be a single morning weekday service from South Woodham direct to Chelmsford via the A132 and the A130.
