A student from Writtle College is helping test an innovative new brand of organic plant food.
Chris Bonnett, a business management student, read about HumaTech and its products on the internet.
He was so interested by its Earthworks range, he decided to take time out from his course to work with the company on branding and developing the products for launch on the garden market.
He said: "Not only do these products add humus and improve the soil structure, they also aid the uptake of other plant nutrients."
The products, made from deposits of organic humate formed in the earth over millions of years, are available through selected garden centres including Writtle College Farm Shop and online at www.GardeningExpress.co.uk
