Singing hopeful Carol Lynch was "absolutely fantastic" and "went down a treat" as she belted out a song at a Basildon nightspot.
The 19-year-old from Caister Drive, Pitsea, sang I Love The Way, a song she wrote herself more than a year ago, in front of a packed Jumpin' Jaks.
Carol is most famously know as a reject from the new Popstars: The Rivals auditions in which she thought judge Geri Halliwell made a sarcastic comment about her size 16 figure.

However she impressed the crowds at the popular live entertainment bar on the Festival Leisure Park on Saturday.
Sam Baker, the general manager at the bar, said: "She was absolutely fantastic.
"We put her in at the deep end and just stuck her on the stage but her nerves just went and she sang her own song which went down a treat."
Shop assistant Carol said: "It was wicked and it has really encouraged me to push forward."
