A group of residents on the edge of Writtle who fear big changes if a gravel extraction and reservoir scheme at Writtle College proceed are urging people to object to the environment ministry.
They say minister Nick Raynsford is their last hope in getting their opposition heeded since the scheme was put forward last year.
One Roxwell Road resident Carolyn Carlile says one condition they are desperate for is no gravel working on Saturdays.
They are also concerned at gravel lorries turning onto the fast A1060 road which is only an average width two-way route.
The residents are also perturbed that the scheme has received county council backing despite local opposition by both Writtle Parish Council and Chelmsford Borough Council because the site is another addition not included in the minerals subject plan for Essex.
