A disabled man who had his car stolen has told of his delight it has been found - even though it was badly damaged in an accident.
Michael Brett said he was glad that nobody had been injured when thieves lost control of the stolen vehicle.
Police finally caught up with the Ford Fiesta yesterday after a chase ended in the car rolling onto its side.
The blue car was stolen from 45-year-old Mr Brett from outside his daughter's house in Pamplins, Basildon, on August 7 and whoever stole it has made off without payment from local garages on various occasions since.
Mr Brett from Falstones, Basildon, suffers from a pulmonary heart disease which makes it hard to breath and he is waiting for two knee replacements.
Four youths have been arrested and are currently being questioned by police.
