Canvey Island will have a brand new goalkeeper in action tonight when they start their Ryman League Premier Division home campaign against Bishop's Stortford (7.30pm).
Danny Potter, with Dr Martens League Premier Division Chelmsford City last term, is the new man between the sticks.
He had originally signed for Gulls' Ryman Premier rivals Heybridge Swifts this term, and was with Nationwide League side Exeter earlier in his career.

Potter steps in for one-time Crewe and Stevenage stopper Dean Greygoose, who failed to impress as the Islanders started their campaign with a 2-1 defeat at Hayes on Saturday and has been released.
Both goals conceded followed corners and manager Jeff King insisted: "Generally we were the better side, although we did fall away for a spell after they went 2-0 up."
Honeymooning keeper Ashley Harrison, defender Steve Ward (holiday) and suspended wing-back Chris Duffy all miss out again this evening, while winger Matt Jones, signed from Dagenham in the summer, is still out with a broken bone in his arm.
