An 18-year-old woman was jailed for four months after hitting a man on the back of the head with a bottle.
Emily Hall, from St Helen's Road, Leigh, pleaded guilty at Southend Magistrates' Court to striking the man after he walked into the Carlton pub in Broadway, Leigh, on July 20.
The man, with whom she had had a previous relationship, needed stitches for his injuries.
In mitigation, Vicky Hills said her client had received threatening letters from the man. She also claimed he had punched her.
Ms Hills said the pair, who had a child, had a history, but details were not read to the court adding that Hall "just snapped and lost control" when she saw the man walk into the pub.
District judge Kevin Gray said that regardless of what had happened in the past, Hall had to accept that when she carried out this attack she inflicted very serious injuries.
