Workers in Chelmsford with a drive for fundraising have helped buy an ambulance.
Staff at insurance company M&G handed over the keys to the town's branch of the British Red Cross.
The M&G staff charity fund raised £25,000 for the ambulance, and with the help of volunteers from the Chelmsford Red Cross who raised £15,000, managed to reach the total needed.
The new multi-purpose vehicle will be used in and around the town to provide wheelchair-accessible transport to those who would otherwise find it difficult or impossible to get around.
Dilys Sewell, Red Cross senior service manager for Essex, said: "We are very grateful to the employees of M&G for their generosity and support."
