Fishing isn't just a sport for your dad and grandad.
It's just one of the activities Southend council have organised for over-tens this summer.
Forget football and swimming, kids in search of something different have been angling over the summer holidays.
I caught up with a group of them on Southend Pier waiting for the fish to bite.
Jamie Polkinghoirn, 11, is a bit of a regular at the sessions run by Dave Godwin.
Ten-year-old James Ashton of Westcliff says the thing he's most looking forward to is eating the fish they catch.
The rest of the group is all trying the sport for the first time and give it the thumbs up.
"It is good to try something new," says Louisa Thomas, ten of South-end. "It is a lot harder than I thought though."
Cherry Meader, also ten, of Southend, says: "I like the way you throw it in the water. Catching something will be even better."
Robert Garner, ten, says that he hopes to go fishing with his dad more often. "I've been fishing with my dad before, but I haven't actually cast off or anything. I think after this I'll go with him again."
Fancy fishing? There are still a few sessions to go. To book a spot, phone 01702 613000
