Andy Marshall has an ominous warning for Ipswich Town's rivals in Division One.
While many fans and most newspaper reports hailed the Blues' 2-0 success at Walsall, the former Norwich keeper refused to get carried away.
"It was an OK performance," he concluded. "But we can certainly play an awful lot better."
In terms of result, Ipswich kick-started their season in style on Saturday thanks to goals from Darren Ambrose and Marcus Bent at the Bescot Stadium.
But, despite being delighted with the outcome, Marshall added: "We were pleased to win but certainly have plenty to work on in training.
"We certainly mustn't get carried away by the result, although it bodes well that we won without being anywhere near our best."
Ipswich are gunning for more League success on Sunday when Leicester City are the visitors to Portman Road (kick-off 3pm).
