A group of Rotarians will be holding a parachute jump in a bid to continue the worldwide campaign to fight polio.
Colchester man Andrew Crayston will be among a group of 20 Rotarians from throughout Essex to take part in the jump on Sunday to raise money for the World Health Organisation polio vaccination programme.
The programme is designed to see every country free of polio by the year 2005.
"Ridding the world of polio is something that Rotary has long been interested in and because there are so many Rotarians throughout the world it is something we can all help in our own little way," said Mr Crayston, of Langenhoe.
"The programme needs another three years of pushing for it to be completely successful so this is a very worthy cause."
Any donations to the vaccination programme can be made via the Rotary Club of Colchester Forum, c/o Fenn Wright in Colchester High Street
