Shiv Das is still at the crease for India having scored more than 200 runs since he opened for the tourists against Essex yesterday.
By lunch on day two of the four-day match at the County Ground, Chelmsford, Das had scored an undefeated 217 to add to India's overall total of 469-7.
The only wicket to fall so far today has been that of Sourav Ganguly who went for 74.
Yesteday India won the toss and elected to bat in the first day's play.
They lost the wicket of Sanjay Banger in the morning session when was bowled by James Middlebrook for 21.
Middlebrook has so far managed to account for four of the Indian wickets.
Joe Grant also managed to take two wickets.
Other wickets to fall on the first day were those of Virender Sehwag (37), VVS Laxman (46), Wasim Jaffer (19) Parthiv Patel (32) and Ajay Ratra (1)
