A High Court battle between controversial rave organisers and Colchester Council has been called off at the last minute.
The council has withdrawn a bid to try and ban Pulse8 from staging an outdoor rave this Saturday after finding that the group is likely to stage it away from their original proposed site in Copford.
The council had pursued the action in a bid to stop them from creating a noise nuisance and amid health and safety fears.
They now say they will seize equipment and gain injunctions during the event.
But event organisers had already promised the event would "go ahead no matter what".
Matt Moore, 21, had vowed to attend the High Court to defend the group but the High Court action was cancelled yesterday.
Mr Moore told the Evening Gazette: "We will be holding this event and nothing will stop us. As far as we are concerned we will be holding a legal event on Saturday night."
