Colchester United duo keeper Richard McKinney and wing-back Karl Duguid face lay-offs after being carried off on stretchers during their 1-1 draw at Tranmere.
Duguid only lasted 20 minutes before he was forced off the pitch with suspected medial ligament damage to his right knee which is set to keep him out for weeks after a strong challenge.
He said: "I didn't realise I'd done it. I went in for tackle and it was only when I got up and tried to run that I realised something was seriously wrong."
McKinney was injured in first-half stoppage time after a challenge with Tranmere forward Simon Haworth and suffered concussion. He was replaced by Simon Brown.
