Youngsters have been criticised by a parish councillor for breaking glass bottles on the playing field.
Vice-chairman of Thorpe Parish Council, Jose Powell has warned residents to keep their children and dogs away from an area of the playing field covered with shattered glass.
She said vandals in the area played games on the field which involved scoring points for the most glass bottles they were able to smash.
Mrs Powell said the group took to playing the game after travellers left bottles on the field last month and they also took them from bottle banks or bin bags.
However, she was anxious to point out the travellers had not caused the damage.
She said: " It's not them, it's our children, the local boys. I have been told who they are.
"They see it as a game to smash the glass everywhere.
Mrs Powell added she had spoken to police officers who said there was nothing they could do until somebody witnessed the vandalism.
