Two children were rescued by Southend lifeboat crews as hundreds of daytrippers flocked to the seaside.
In the first incident a six-year-old boy was reported missing from Chalkwell beach but was found safe and well an hour later.
The RNLI lifeboat was launched for a second time three hours later following reports that a seven-year-old boy had also gone missing from Chalkwell beach. He was later spotted safe and well at the Westcliff Casino.
