New moves to give Clacton town centre a major facelift in an effort to boost its economy are set to come under the spotlight.
A special exhibition is being staged next week based on a report by consultants brought in to help provide a way forward.
The hope is that traders and residents will play their part by turning out and making their views known.
The main aim is to enhance the environment of Clacton town centre, improve accessability, upgrade the shopping experience and properly manage the area.
Among the ideas being considered is bringing in a full-time town centre manager and creating a traffic-free zone.
Tendring Council is putting on the exhibition at Clacton Town Hall from Monday to Friday.
The consulation period will run through to September 20.
Peter Patrick, portfolio holder for planning, said it was vital everyone interested in the town centre made the effort to get involved.
"The aim of the strategy is simple to build on the town's strengths and create a safer, more pleasant and attractive environment for residents and visitors alike," he said.
