Detectives are hunting two men who robbed a postman after threatening him with a hammer.
The men approached the delivery worker while he was on his rounds in Southcote Square at the bottom of Whitmore Way, Basildon.
One of the men demanded the post bag and produced a hammer, threatening to hit the postman.
He is described as white, in his mid 20s, 5ft 9ins, skinny with long shoulder length light brown hair. He wore a purple bobble hat, a blue shell suit top, a mustard coloured sweat shirt and baggy dark blue jeans.
The second man, who did not say anything, was white, in his 20s, 6ft 1ins, slim with short wavy mousy hair parted on the left.
He had a spotty complexion and wore light blue jeans, a shell suit top.
