A prayer vigil is taking place at Chelmsford Cathedral to mark the first anniversary of the terrorist attack that took place in New York last year.
On Wednesday, September 11, other churches in the town have been invited to join together for a remembrance of the event which involved the attack on the twin towers of the World Trade Centre last year.
The vigil of peace starts at 2pm with silent prayer interspersed with set prayers, readings and psalms every 30 minutes.
It will culminate with a united ecumenical worship involving Churches Together from 7.30pm to 8pm
